2. mind  v. 介意；对（某事）烦恼

(1)   mind (sb.) doing sth.   介意（某人）做某事

       I don’t mind your words.

       Would you mind me opening the door?

       Alice doesn’t mind losing the notebook.

3. stand v. 站立；忍受（过去式：stood）

(1)   can’t stand sth./doing sth. 不能忍受某事/不能忍受做某事

       I saw a beautiful girl standing under the tree yesterday. （站立）

       My mother can’t stand sports shows. （忍受）

       Henry can’t stand drinking tea.   （忍受）  

4. educational   adj.  教育的，有教育意义的

（比较级：more educational        最高级：the most educational）

       Some talk shows are educational.

       David thinks that news is more educational than sitcoms.

5. plan  v.&n. 计划，打算 （过去式：planned）

(1)   plan to do sth.  计划做某事

       After discussing, they got a plan. (n.)

            Molly shared her study plan with me. (n.)

       Sam and Cindy planned to fly to Beijing.  (v.)

       My cousin plans to find a job in Shanghai. (v.)

6. hope  v.&n. 希望 

(1)   hope to do sth.  希望作某事

       Who hopes to watch a talent show?  (v.)

       Mike hopes to get better grades. (v.)

       I think the future is full of hope. (n.)

       Could you tell me your hope? (n.)

〖辨析〗hope & wish

	用法	常用搭配
hope	“希望”，表示对未来可能实现的事情的期望或者希望	hope to do sth. (hope不跟不定式作宾语补足语)
wish	“希望，祝愿”，表示对不太可能或者不现实的事情的期望	wish to do sth wish sb. to do sth.

       He hopes to go to college next year. (v.)

       There is some hope that we get the station on time. (n.)

       Best wishes for you! (n.)

       I wish I was taller. (v.)

7. discussion n. 讨论；商量   

(1)   have a discussion about sth.   就某事进行讨论

       The doctors had a discussion about the new disease.

       Lucy’s parents had a discussion about her free time activities.

〖拓展〗discussion的动词形式：discuss，意为“商量，讨论”

常用短语：discuss sth. with sb. 与某人讨论某事

       Can we have a meeting to discuss it?

       I have to discuss the problem with you.

8. happen v. 发生；出现（无被动形式）

(1)   sth. happen(s) to sb.  某人发生了某事

       An accident happened to a little boy just now.

       Something good happened to Jim.

(2)   happen to do sth. 碰巧做某事

       Lisa happened to meet her math teacher at the supermarket.

       I happened to see her leave last Friday.

〖辨析〗happen和take place

相同点	不同点
都意为“发生”，都没有被动形式	happen强调偶然、碰巧发生 take place强调根据计划或安排发生

       Everyone wanted to know what happened last week.

       An music competition takes place in October.

9. expect v. 预料；期待

(1)   expect (sb.) to do sth. 期待（某人）做某事

       Andy expects to learn something important from the news.

       She expected her husband to go shopping with her on the weekend.

2. think of   认为

常用于句型：“What do you think of...?”意为“你认为......怎么样？”，用于询问他人对某人或某事的意见
