Longman Welcome to English Gold 3A-Chapters 1 and 2 A.Class activity (Seasons and festivals) Aim: To practise using weather words,festival names and vocabulary about activities in different seasons and at different festivals Description of the activity: ● Pupils match different seasons with weather words,festival names,and vocabulary about activities in different seasons and at different festivals.They then use these words to make sentences. You will need: 1. A set of word cards 2.Some adhesive tape /Blu-Tack for sticking the word cards on the board 3.A box or bag to put the word cards in Steps: 1.Stick the word cards with the four season names on the board. 2.Put the word cards of weather words in the box. 3.Invite four pupils to come to the front of the classroom.They each draw two word cards from the box. 4. They look at the words on their word cards.They decide which seasons the words belong to and stick the word cards under the corresponding seasons.For example,if the word on the word card is hot',the pupil should stick it under 'summer'. 5.Put the word cards of activities in different seasons in the box. 6.Invite another four pupils to come to the front of the classroom.They each draw a word card from the box and repeat Step 4,this time placing the word cards of activities under the best seasons. 7.Put the word cards of festival names in the box. 8. Invite another five pupils to come to the front of the classroom.They each draw a word card from the box and repeat Step 4,this time placing the word cards of festival names under the relevant seasons. 9.Put the word cards of activities at different festivals in the box. 10.Invite another six pupils to come to the front of the classroom.They each draw two word cards from the box and repeat Step 4,this time placing the word cards of festival activities under the relevant seasons. 11.When all of the word cards have been stuck on the board,invite pupils to use the words on the board to make sentences,e.g.It's cold an
