选择性必修第一册Unit 4 Body Language教学设计 教学目标 At the end of this period, students are expected to : 1. conclude the main idea and understand some detailed information about body language. 2. write a summary of this text following the steps of SWSP model. 3. understand the importance of body language in cross-cultural communication and be aware to use body language properly. 教学内容 教学重点： 1. teach Ss to write a summary by using SWSP model. 教学难点： 1. make the students understand the importance of body language in cross-cultural communication and be aware to use body language properly. 教学过程 Stag1.Lead-in(before class) Greet students; Present several pictures and ask students to figure out the feelings these pictures show. (Teaching purpose:To lead in the topic of the text.) Stag2.Pre-writing Prediction:Ask Ss to predict the topic of the reading text according to the title and picture. (Teaching purpose:To figure out the topic of the text.) Stag3.While-writing Step 1.SWSP Model 1.Present the requirements of “Summary-writing” in college entrance exam. 2.Present SWSP model of “Summary Writing”. (Teaching purpose:To help Ss understand the importance and basic steps of “Summary writing”.) Step 2.SWSP - S Ask Ss to skim the whole text and figure out the structure of the text. (Teaching purpose:To help Ss know the structure of the text.) Step 3.SWSP - W 1.Ask Ss to underline the topic sentences of part 1. 2.Ask Ss to distinguish the main points in part 2. 3.Ask Ss to underline topic sentences of part 2 and circle the key words of them. 4.Check students’ work. 5.Ask Ss to think out the synonyms of “show” and “universally”. (skill 1) (Teaching purpose:To help students find out the topic sentences and key words of part1 and 2.) Step 4.SWSP - S 1.Ask Ss to find out the “sentence structure” of each topic sentence. 2.Present skill 2 - “change the sentence structure”and ask Ss to rewrite topic sentence by using skill. 3.Practice with an example. 4.Ask Ss to work in a team to rewrite
