小升初英语情态动词讲解及专练 1、 定义 本身有词义，表示请求、命令、要求等语气。不能独立作谓语，其后要跟动词原形一起构成谓语。 2、 常见的情态动词：can/could, may/might, must, should 3、 具体用法： 1. can能，表示具备某种能力 例：I can swim. 可用于问句中,否定形式can’t 2. could能，也是can的过去式，表示过去的能力；另外，could 在不强调过去时，可用在一般疑问句开头，比Can语气更委婉。否定形式couldn’t. 例：I could sing well, but now I can’t sing well. 例：Could you please tell me your name? 3. may“可以”，表示同意、许可，也可表示祝愿。其否定形式 may not. 例： You may put on more clothes.
