Teaching Plan for Reading for Writing Unit5 Launching your career --Apply for a summer job Analysis of the teaching content The theme of this unit is work and careers. Students will gain a deeper understanding on how to decide on a future career by looking at a career aptitude test. They will explore how to choose a university major then learn how to write an application letter and a CV.This knowledge will then be activated by having students look at how they will reach their career goals.Finally students will learn how a young man turned his passion and hobby into a career.It is hoped that through this unit students will be better prepared to embark upon their careers and have a bright future. About the target students This is a senior class with 53 students who have a serious attitude to learning. However, they are able to experiment and explore problems, and have moderate writing skills. They have an initial understanding of careers and a basic reading and writing skills and the ability to use the attributive clause to describe people and things in detail. In addition, they are able to guess the meaning of words based on the content of a text and understand the meaning of words and careers. Teaching objectives By the end of the class, students will be able to: 1.To master the expression of application letter. 2.To be able to complete an application letter using what you have learned. 3.Think about your career plan.
