It was a beautiful Sunday in early December Ten-year-old Riley Christensen and her mother Lynn, were huddled in front of the family computer, checking out models and prices of bikes. " Let's pick one out for Dad's birthday." Mother suggested to her daughter. Riley nodded happily. She could even imagine how excited Dad would be when receiving such a big surprise, and maybe they would ride in the park together.
Riley was looking through the home page of the Bike Rack, a shop in their town of St. Charles, Illinois, when a video link for Project Mobility caught their eye.
Out of curiosity, she clicked on it. The short video told how Hal Honeyman, a Bike Rack Co-owner, had created an organization to provide specially engineered bicycles to people with disabilities. It showed the happy faces of those who were now riding them-accident victims, injured soldiers, and children with disabilities, including Hal's son, who had been born with cerebral palsy.
