Step 2 Work on 1a-1b 1.Show the days of the week in a large monthly calendar. 2.Point out the days of the week at the top of the calendar and ask one student to read these words aloud. 3.Ask one student to point out today’s date,tomorrow’s date,the day after tomorrow’s date and yesterday’s date. 4.Have the students write the dates for this week in 1a,and check the answers. 5.Ask the students to write the words in 1b on the calendar in 1a. 6.Check the answers. Step 3 Work on 1c 1.Call the students’ attention to the example in the box.Ask two students to read it to the class. 2.Ask the students to work in pairs and make some conversations using the words in 1a and 1b with their partners. 3.Ask some students to present their conversations. Step 4 Work on 1d-1e 1.Point to the picture. 2.Play the recording for the students to listen and answer the question “Can Vince play tennis with Andy?” by circling “Yes” or “No”. 3.Play the recording again.Ask the students to match Vince’s activities with the days in 1d. 4.Play the recording once more and check the answers.
