(1)Show some pictures of some places of interest.Tell the students the names of them. e.g.the Great Wall,the Summer Palace,Tian’anmen Square,a Beijing hutong... (2)Let the students discuss what they can do,eat and buy in those places. Step 2 Work on 3a 1.Tell the students if they went to one of these places of interest last summer vacation.Let them try to fill in the blanks of the diary with the help of the words in the box. 2.Let some students read the words in the box. 3.Check the answers. Step 3 Work on 3b 1.Let some students read the questions aloud.Make sure they know the meaning of the questions. 2.Let the students work in pairs to ask and answer the questions and write their answers on a piece of paper. 3.Let some pairs to act out their conversations. 4.Check the forms of the verbs. Step 4 Work on 3c 1.Teach the students how to write a travel diary. 2.Let the students write a travel diary like Jane’s on Page 5 using the notes in 3b. 3.Choose some students’ diaries.Make the students read them out.Point out the mistakes and induct the students to correct their diaries.
