1 2 Module 9 拓展阅读 3 Passage One Greenland is the largest island in the world. It is in the north of Europe. Near Greenland is another island. It is named Iceland. Do you think that Greenland is green and warm? Do you think that Iceland is white with ice? If you do, you are wrong. A small number of people live on the big island of Greenland. There are probably more people in your home town than those in all of Greenland. That is because Greenland is not green. Greenland is white. Most of the island is covered with lots of ice. The Greenland is higher than the world's high buildings. What about Iceland? Is it colder than Greenland? No, it isn't. Iceland has ice, but not so much as Greenland. Iceland has a lot of springs. They give out hot water and steam. The climate is not as cold as Greenland. And there are a lot of people living on Iceland. 4 Ⅰ.根据短文内容判断正误，正确的写“T”，错误的写“F”。 1.Greenland is the largest land in the world.( ) F 2.The passage is talking about two islands.( ) T 3.Iceland is colder than Greenland.( ) F 4.There are more people living in Iceland than those in Greenland.( ) T 5 Ⅱ.根据短文内容回答下列问题。 5.Where is the largest island in the world? __________________________ It is in the north of Europe. 6.Which is the larger island, Iceland or Greenland? ___________ Greenland. 7.What is most of Greenland covered with? ____________________________ It is covered with lots of ice. 8.Why isn't the climate in Iceland so cold as that in Greenland? __________________________________________________________________ Because Iceland has a lot of springs.
