Unit 9 What does he look like? 一、单元分析 本单元是Go for it七年级下册中第九单元“What does he look like?”。本课的核心话题是谈论人的外表形象(look), 教材内容围绕着描述人的外貌特点展开，让学生学会谈论人的身高、体重、发型、面部特征及着装特点，以人的外貌特征为主线，兼顾交际功能的学习。以一种循序渐进的生活化的学习程序引导学生学会用英语介绍自己或者他人的外貌特征。因此 ‘talking about sb’s look’ 是教学重点。通过对本课的学习，学生能掌握表示人外观的词组及句型。 二、学情分析 学谈论人的外表形象是人们日常生活中遇到的话题。故学生喜于用英语表达此类知识，学生能通过对不同人物的描述以及看法，促进学生之间和师生之间的情感交流，增进情谊。而且小学五年级第一单元what’s he like？就学过了描述外貌形象的单词和句型，所以学生应该会觉得简单，不过在实际运用中还是会出现各种小错误。教师需要加强指导。 三、课时安排 【课时建议】本单元建议5课时 第一课时Section A（1a～2c） 第二课时Section A（2d～3d） 第三课时Section B（1a～1e&Self check） 第四课时Section B（2a～2c） 第五课时Section B（3a～3b&writing） Period 1 ( 1a-2c ) 教学目标： curly, straight, tall, medium, thin, heavy, build (1)—What does he look like? —He’s of medium/build.  (2)—What does he look like?  —She has long straight hair.  (3)—Is he tall or short？ —He is tall. 教学重点: 掌握单词，熟练掌握描述人的形象的句型。 教学难点: 掌握描述人的形象的句型, 并能区别is与has的用法区别。 一次备课 二次备课 Step1 Lead in 1. Do you have a good friend? Who is your good friend? What can he/she do? What does he/she like? Step2 Presentation 1. Show pictures of famous stars and ask Do you know them? Do you like them? 2. Ask : What does he/she look like? Teach them how to describe the height and the build. 3. Show students pictures of the hair and tell them how to describe it. Pay attention to the orders. 4. Let the students to talk about some famous stars’ appearances. Step3 1a&1b 1.Finish part 1a, look and match. 2.
