语法填空 (2023·马鞍山一模) 体裁:说明文 话题:科普知识 难度:★★☆☆☆
The recommendation to drink eight glasses of water a day has become accepted wisdom and often appears in health guidance. A latest study, however, reveals that people have 1 wide range of water intakes. Many people only require about 1.5 to 1.8 litres a day, 2 (low) than the two litres typically recommended.
“The current recommendation is not supported 3 (scientific) at all,” said the researcher. “Most of the scientists are not sure 4 this recommendation came from.”
One issue is that previous estimates of water requirements have tended 5 (ignore) the water content of food, which can contribute a substantial proportion (比例) of our overall intake. If you just eat bread and bacon and eggs you will not get much water from food, but if you eat meat, vegetables, fish, pasta and rice you can get about 50% 6 your water needs.
The study shows that a “one⁃size⁃fits⁃all policy” for water intake is not supported by the data in most 7 (situation). Although drinking more water than your body requires 8 (be) unlikely to be harmful to health, clean drinking water is not free to produce, the researchers point out. “If 40 million adults in the UK were following the 9 (suggest) and they drank half a litre of clean water more than they need each day, thats 20m litres of 10 (waste) water every day.”

2.lower 考查形容词的比较级。根据空后的比较级提示词than可知,空处应用形容词比较级,故填lower。
3.scie
