Passage 1
The Book of Boy, written by the US author Catherine Murdock, attracted(吸引) me with its rich imagery(意象).
The main character, Boy, is a hump-backed orphan(驼背的孤儿). He is often bullied(欺负) by other kids because of his looks. One day, he is sold to a man named Secundus. The two set off on an exciting adventure. Along the way, they meet thieves and other bad people. Boy and Secundus show their bravery(勇敢) and strength.
4
During the trip, they learn each other's true identities. Boy, who can talk with animals and predict(预言) the future, is actually an angel. The hump on his back is his wings. Secundus turns out to have died a thousand years ago. He ran away from hell(地狱). He hopes to go to heaven and meet his son and wife.
Apart from being a great fantasy novel(奇幻小说), the story teaches readers to see others and themselves in a new light. Because of his adventure with Secundus, Boy learns to acknowledge(承认) himself for who he is. He also realises that people can't be judged(评判) easily. Secundus, who seems to be cold, is actually very nice. The book has a heart-warming ending(暖心的结尾). You should read it!
