I did as they asked, though I found it annoying at first, since I was so busy with my new friends and exciting life at the new school. One day, something happened, which changed my mind. I became really ill with a fever and I called my mum. When I heard her tender voice, I felt comforted. She took the one-hour train journey to come to see me, bringing me soup and fruit. I was so moved by what my mum did for me. I realised how she loves me without expecting anything in return. From that day on, I got into the habit of calling my parents every weekend, as a way of showing that I care.
