1. From a recording to know the clock.
2. Know the expression of time from the pictures on ppt and their own hand-made clocks.
3. Talk about “Activities” in the morning.
4. Learn and practice the dialogue “When do you …? I … at … .”.
5. Share their time tables and work in pairs.
6. Homework
Difficulties: 情景教学的理解, the expression of time.
Teaching Aids: PPT, a recording, clocks pictures and words cards.
Teaching Process:
Step I. Warming up
Sing the song together << Color Song >>.
Step II. Presentation
1. Greetings.
2. Play the sound of the clock.
T: Listen, what’s the sound? What can you hear?
Ss: Clock.
T: Yes. It’s the sound of the clock.
Look, this is my clock. Its name is Mini Coffee.
Let’s say Hello to it.
Ask students to read “clock” after the teacher together.

3. Show the surface of the clock.
T: Mini Coffee thinks it’s not very beautiful. It needs your help. Would you like to help it?
Q:How many numbers are there on the clock?
Ask one student to design and draw the number on the surface of the clock and another student to find the right word card meanwhile sticking the card beside the number.
4. Ask students what their hands can do . Then, introduce the two hands of the clock.
T: What can your hands do?
Ss: My hands can ….
T: The clock has two hands, too. One is long, the other is short. They can tell us time.
Tell students the long hand is for minute and the short hand is for hour.
5. Ask students whether they want to be Mini Coffee’s good friends. If they want to be its good friends, they must know the clock very well. Help them learn the expression of asking for time .
