T:We learn many subjects at school: English, Chinese, math, art, music, P．E. and so on. Some students are interested in music and they love to sing songs. Some are good at math. Some are good at English. What subject do you like? Now let's learn about subjects. Unit 9 My favorite subject is science.

Explaining:

1. favorite:

①作形容词，意为“特别喜爱的”，后接名词。

What's your favorite color?

你特别喜爱的颜色是什么?

My favorite color is blue.

我特别喜爱的颜色是蓝色。

②作名词，意为“特别喜爱的人或物”。

Those books are her favorite.

那些书是她特别喜爱的。

2.PE.体育

PE.是一个表示学科的名词。表示某学科的名词作主语时，谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。

PE. is interesting.体育很有趣。

3. Chinese语文

Chinese不可数名词，意为“语文;汉语;中文”。

①Chinese用作可数名词，意为“中国人”，其单复数形式相同。

a Chinese一个中国人  some Chinese一些中国人

②Chinese用作形容词，意为“中国的;中国人的;汉语的"。

John has a Chinese friend.约翰有一个中国朋友。
