Section Ⅲ　Grammar & Writing 省略 一、基本概念 省略在英语运用中，尤其是在交际对话中普遍存在，因为它可以避免重复，突出关键词语，能做到言简意赅，并使上下文紧密连接。省略有词法上的省略，也有句法上的省略，有的学者把某些替代也看作一种省略。 二、语法规则 (一)简单句的省略 1．省略主语 (1)祈使句中的主语通常被省略 (You)Open the door，please.请开一下门。 (2)其他省略主语限于习惯说法 Thank you for your invitation to dinner at your home.感谢你邀请我去你家吃晚餐。 2．省略谓语或谓语的一部分 The river was deep and the ice thin.(ice后面省略了was)河水很深，冰很薄。 3．省略宾语 Let’s do the dishes.
