Tibetan antelopes:
Tibetan antelopes live on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau(青藏高原)at altitudes(海拔) between 4,000 and 5,500 metres above sea level and can run at speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour.In the 1980s and 1990s, some 20,000 Tibetan antelopes(羚羊) were killed by smuggler(走私者)because a shawl(围巾,披肩)made from their hair could charge as much as $ 30,000. They stop working for four days to make way for them. In August, when these Tibetan antelopes return with their children, they stop working once again. Thanks to effective protection efforts, there are now around 300,000 Tibetan antelopes in the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau area, and the population is steadily climbing.
