We can know what knowledge they should master from the following mind-map: Based on these information, we can infer that this textbook aims to help students learn how to describe what their daily life is like in English, including their bobbies, daily habits, ordering food and so on. As for grammars, students learn in this unit from the four parts: 1) Yes/No question with would like and Special questions with would like; E.g. What kind of noodles would you like? 2) The usage of the pronouns “some” and “any”; E.g. Are there any vegetables in the beef noodles? 3) Classifying the countable or uncountable nouns; Countable nouns: noodle, tomato, carrot,potato Uncountable nouns: mutton, beef Countable and uncountable nouns: chicken, cabbage 4) More about wh-questions. E. g. What would you like? Section A 1a~2c is the first learning period of the unit. Students will learn to order beef noodles by using the structure “would like”, and call the name of different kinds of noodles. Analysis of the students Before learning this unit, students have learned how to get to some places, so it’s easy for them to know the situation in Section A 1a is in a restaurant. And they also have had a small vocabulary about food, which they will have the chance in this unit to review. Studying English for around one year, students have mastered the concept “countable and uncountable nouns”.
