(Teaching aims: To add students’ background knowledge of marathon and stimulate their interest.) (2) The teacher asks students to look at the chart and answer the questions in Activity 1. (Teaching aims: To lead students into analyzing a chart.) 2. While-reading: (1) The teacher asks students to share with the classmates their personal understanding of the title. (Teaching aims: To have students predict the passage’s content and main idea.) (2) The teacher asks students to read the passage and complete the table with expressions from the passage.
