Get the students to review some verbs and their past forms.Give them some verbs and quickly ask individual students to say out the past forms of the verbs. Step 2 Work on 1a 1.Show the pictures in 1a.Get the students to speak out the phrases to express the situations of the pictures:get up late,take a shower,run/hurry to...,miss the bus... 2.Read these phrases and write them down on the blackboard.Then ask about the pictures:Did the girl have a good or bad day?What happened to the girl?Let the students discuss in pairs.Get the students to answer with complete sentences,using the phrases.
