Under earlier rules, kids could play online games for 1.5 hours on any day and three hours on holidays. But many parents have called for even stricter limits, Xinhua reported.

The new rules quickly caused discussion. Some people support them, while others are surprised at how strict the rules are.

“Kids can hardly control themselves, so they need guidance and monitoring,” one person wrote on Sina Weibo.

Others worry about loopholes. “What if kids use their parents’ logins?” another person asked.

The notice also calls on parents and schools to work together to make sure the rules are followed. Children are the future of a country. Protecting their physical and mental health is important. It is necessary for kids to know more about the related laws and rules.
