Communication Workshop of Unit 13, Module 5 Writing: Describing a person Teaching background: This lesson focuses on how to write a description about a person and it serves as a means of language output, helping students practice. In addition, it is also required in the New Curriculum. Therefore, this lesson is of significance. Teaching goals: 1. Goals for ability Enable the students to write a description about a person using a mind map and some linking words. Polish their essays. 2. Goals for knowledge Enable the students to master giving examples and some linking words. 3. Moral goals Develop the students’ habits of using a mind map to prepare for writing. Promote the students’ emotion of being committed, hardworking, generous etc. Analysis of the students: The students in my class are different levels. Nearly all of them cannot write a complete composition correctly. Most of them can just write some simple sentences or vocabulary. They do not know how to use linking words or advanc
