Emily and her family were going on vacation. They would be going to France, Italy and Germany, "Let's go get your passport:' said Mom. ‘You won't get out of the airport without one. A passport is a document with your picture on it. You have to show it every time you come and go from the country. Emily was excited. She began to think about what her passport photo might look like. She ran to the bathroom mirror. She combed her hair and put on lipstick.

"Your passport will last for 5 years," said Mom "You won't need another one until you are 18 years old."
