Explain to students that we can use ‘’ to join two parts of a sentence. Each part has an opposite idea. 2 Explain that ‘although’ has a similar meaning to ‘but’. However, we never use ‘but’ in a sentence with ‘although’. Remind the students that ‘although’ is followed by a subject and then a verb. Step4 Doing Exercises Have Students joins the sentences on P47 ,then check the answers Step5 leeding in Test students’ knowledge of ‘unless’. Emphasize the use of ‘unless’ to introduce exceptional conditions. For ordinary conditions, we use ‘if not’ instead Step6 Doing Exx Ask students to match the two parts of the sentences on page 48 on their own .Then check the answers.
