A sudden yellow glow reached his eyes. He headed forward quickly and found a raft. One man sat on it and waved weakly. Another man lay still, face down. Brady circled lower. At fifteen feet the waves reached up to the bottom of the seaplane. The crew were waiting for his decision. No one would blame him for dropping supplies and returning to the base. A ship could be here within twenty-four hours to pick up the survivors. There were five men in his crew. And with two more men weighing down the plane, it was almost impossible to take off in weather like this. Water poured over the raft, and the men almost fell off.
