In July, China introduced the “double reduction” policy. It hopes to reduce schoolwork burden on primary and junior high school students. The policy calls for reducing homework and after-school classes. So my life has changed a lot. Our homework is clearly less than before, and I have enough time to process new knowledge now. I have more chances to do experiments and learn from real life. For example, I go to research earthworms in a field during a biology class. This is a much better way to learn things than just hitting the books. I can also spend more time taking part in clubs and activities, such as dancing, volleyball and drama. Although we feel less stress than before, self-discipline becomes the key. We should balance the schoolwork and after-school activities. Otherwise, we will fall behind other students.
