Charles Schulz is a famous cartoonist. He is the creator of Snoopy and Peanuts cartoons.
Charles was born on November 26, 1922. He was very smart. Art was his favourite subject in school. He wished one day he could publish some drawings in books.
When Charles was 13, his family gave him a black and white dog named Spike. Charles drew a picture of Spike and sent it to a magazine. And soon the company published it. When Charles was in high school, he had a good friend called Charlie Brown. Charles drew a funny little boy. He decided to name his cartoon boy Charlie Brown after his friend.
Charles put his best cartoons together and sent them to a company in New York. It was not long before the company sent Charles a note saying they were very interested in his works.
