冲刺2021年高考英语原创阅读理解+完形填空专练02 (阅读理解4篇+完形填空1篇) 一、阅读理解 1 Anyone with even a passing acquaintance with a 21st century teenager will probably know a thing or two about their insatiable fascination with technology---cell phones, digital music players, computers, television and video games. Most teens have at least one if not all these technological distractions packed into their bedrooms, effectively competing with a good night’s sleep. Yet a lack of sleep affects concentration and the ability to learn at school, and can worsen mental health ---teenagers who sleep less than five hours a night are 70% more likely to develop depression. A lack of sleep has also been linked to excess weight. A recent study of Australians aged nine to 18 years found those who were obese tended to go to bed later and sleep less than their lighter peers. It’s thought a lack of sleep increases levels of the ghrelin hormone, which increases feelings of hunger. But although the Australian study hints at a link between poor sleep and weight gain, it doesn’t prove that the former causes the latter. However, a recent French study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, clearly demonstrated that a lack of sleep in normal-weight young men increases their subsequent food intake. Twelve healthy young men were recruited for two 48-hour sessions. During one session the participants followed their normal routines of eating and sleeping and simply had to record their activity during this period; this session acted as the study control period. In the second 48-hour session, the men went to bed at midnight and woke at 8.00am, and then went to bed at 2.00am and awoke at 6.00am. As in the first session the men were allowed to eat as much as they liked. Interestingly, they consumed 22% more calories in the day after their night of short sleep than after eight hours’ sleep.
