Construct sentences that describe scenery with appropriate words. Develop a coherent paragraph that describes scenery with various methods such as metaphor and diverse sentence structures to suggest characters' feelings. 01 Teaching Objectives Definition & Functions √ 01 1.1 Scenery description refers to the description of scenery and objects in the nature. 1. What is scenery description? 2. Why should we use it? Explain setting (time, place…) Create a certain atmosphere/Suggest character’s fate. Promote the development of the plot. Scenery Description The evening of this day was very long at Hartfield. The weather added what it could of gloom. A cold rain set in, and nothing of July appeared but in the trees and bushes. ---------- Adapted from Pride and Prejudice √ 02 Methods 2.1 Appropriate Words The proper words can make the story more interesting，vivid and imaginative. Different verbs, adjectives and nouns can create a different atmosphere, which will contribute to the scenery description.
