The reading passage is an essay about helping developing countries. It talks about one of the world’s most serious problems poverty----and gives ways of solving the problem in the long run. We are expected to gain some knowledge about food aid and development aid, which help reduce poverty in poor countries.
The Reading strategy in this unit suggests that if an essay has a puzzling(费解的,令人困惑的) title, reading the whole text is a good way to understand what it means. We are expected to improve our reading skills by participating in the activities designed.
