A standard news report can be written using an "inverted pyramid (倒金字塔)"structure. As seen below, this format allows for the broadest, most general information to be delivered first, in the Headline, to be followed by more and more specific information, including facts, statistics, and opinions gathered through interviews. Essential facts about the story are generally presented first in the summary lead (the first few sentences of text). The most common lead is the "W5H Format": Where? When? What? Who? Why? How?
