I. Pre-task preparations
1.复习句型What do we get from trees? We get wood from trees.教师提问,学生回答。
2.提问What do we use wood for? 学生使用核心句型We use wood to…回答。将学生的回答列在黑板上。
We use wood to make pencils

make chairs
make paper
II. While-task procedures
1.根据上一活动的板书作总结。
T: We can use wood to make desks, chairs and many other things. We get wood from trees. Trees are very important.
2.然后出示Read a story的挂图,让学生带着问题阅读故事,并找出答案,划出相关句子。
(1)Who's the bird's friend? (Mr. Tree.)
(2)What did the workers do to the tree? (They cut him down.)
3.学生阅读故事之后回答问题,检测他们对故事的理解程度。
T: Who is the bird's friend?
S1: Mr. Tree is the bird's friend.
T: What did the workers do to the tree?
S2: They cut him down and took him to a factory.
…
T: What does the girl use the match for?
S1: She uses it to make a fire.
