I. Pre-task preparations
1.出示挂图,让学生看图对话。
S1: How long does it take to get to Tokyo from Beijing by plane?
S2: It takes about three and a half hours.
2.让学生介绍自己了解的一些著名的城市,如北京、伦敦等,主要介绍它们是哪国的首都或城市,所在的方位以及标志性建筑等。
S1: In August, Peter and his family went to London by plane. It took about eleven hours to get to London from Beijing. London is the capital of the UK. They visited Big Ben and the British Museum. Big Ben is old. The British Museum is big. They had a lovely time.

. While-task procedures
1.出示著名城市东京、伦敦的图片,向学生介绍东京是日本的首都,伦敦是英国的首都,板书句子,学生齐读。
T: Tokyo is the capital of Japan. London is the capital of the UK. (write “Tokyo is the capital of Japan. London is the capital of the UK.” on the blackboard)
Ss. Tokyo is the capital of Japan. London is the capital of UK.
2.出示Look and read的语段和相关句子,要求学生阅读语段,将语段与主题句配对。
