一、教学目标
1. 能够读懂介绍两位外国名人的短文。
2. 能够就所读短文内容与他人展开对话交流。
3. 能够仿照阅读文段,并按相应提示或要求独立书写几个意义连贯的句子。
教学重难点:能够就所读短文内容与他人展开对话交流。
二、教学过程
A. Let s read.
1. 复习活动
(1) 单词归类。教师把前两课所学过的单词做成卡片,分发给学生,每人一张,然后请学生分类并粘贴到黑板上,如Nationality (国籍):Chinese, American, French, Danish,以及其他三类:国家、职业和成就。
(2) 教师根据黑板上的四个类别进行示范:He was Chinese. He was from China. He was a poet. He wrote many beautiful poems. Who is he? 然后请学生猜测。请学生模仿教师的示范,结对或小组进行表达。
2. 阅读短文
(1) 准备活动。教师说出一个新的谜语,请学生猜一猜她是谁,如:She is a woman. She is not Chinese. She wrote many books, and one of her most famous books is Three Days to See. She couldn’t hear or see, but she helped many people. Who is she?

1. 教师补充Helen Keller的名言:Face to the sunlight, you’ll never see the shadow.(只要面对阳光,你就永远看不到阴影。)
2. 教师介绍Helen Keller的著作,如:The Story of My Life, Three Days to See。
(2) 学生说出答案:Helen Keller。教师板书,请学生大声读出人名。
(3) 学生自己默读第一篇短文,圈出人物的姓名、国籍和成就。教师讲解以下短语:the deaf (people who cannot hear), the blind (people who cannot see)。
(4) 学生自己默读第二篇短文,圈出文中人
