The reading passage is made up of two letters written to a magazine advice columnist ([ˈkɒləmnɪst] 专栏作家). Two students are asking the columnist for advice because they have both fallen out with [(与某人)吵翻,闹翻] their best friend. We are expected to gain some insight (洞悉;了解) into the problems that can exist between friends. We should practise and reinforce [ˌri:ɪnˈfɔ:s] our reading comprehension skill and
improve our other skills by fully participating in all the activities. The Reading strategy in this unit teaches us students how to understand feelings in a text. We are expected to improve their reading comprehension skill after studying the reading strategy.
