1. hardly: almost not; almost none.
eg. There is hardly any tea left.
She hardly ever calls me.
※ hard: (1) solid, firm or stiff and difficult to bend or break.
(2) difficult to do, understand or answer.

(3) full of difficulty and problems, especially because of a lack of money
eg. She had a hard life.
2. maybe: (1)used when you are not certain that sth will happen or that sth is true oe is correct number.
eg. Maybe he will come, maybe he won’t.
—Are you going to sell your house? —Maybe.
(2) used when making a suggestion.
eg. I thought maybe we could go together. Maybe you should tell her.
(3) used to agree with sb, and add more information that should be thought about.
eg. —You should stop work when you have the baby. —Maybe, but I can’t afford to.
